A Stourton-based farmer contacted us about a CCTV system to protect his barns.

There had been a spate of crimes at the farm recently. It is in a remote, rural location with several buildings spread over a large area. One barn was over 1km away from the main property.

A local builder who has used our services on his projects recommended us to the farm's owners.

The new clients wanted:

• all their outbuildings covered;
• an early warning of intruders on the property; and
• to receive these notifications on their mobile phones.

PLUS a way to communicate with the intruders to persuade them to leave. Without having to go and confront them in person.

After a site visit to the farm, we came up with a one-system solution to cover their whole estate.

Three-in-one cameras (TiOCs) which integrate monitoring, active deterrence and AI.

Plus wifi bridges with remote switches to link all the cameras back to one central hub.

WHY ACTIVE DETERRENCE CCTV CAMERAS ARE IDEAL FOR FARMS

TiOCs use Artificial Intelligence to accurately target people and vehicles. But filter out animals, leaves and car headlights. This keeps false alarm rates low.

If there is an intruder, the cameras have flashing spotlights which give off an ambient light. This is more eye-catching than white light even in poor weather conditions.

AND the CCTV cameras have active deterrence. This comes as built-in audio messages that can tell intruders to leave. Plus a two-way talk option.

So the farmer can communicate with whoever is on his land... from the comfort of his sofa.

We fitted a Dahua IP networked CCTV system. With a mix of 19 Dahua cameras in total over the farm, including:

• active-deterrent TiOCs with built in audio messages, 2-way talk, flashing lights; and
• auto tracking PTZ cameras to monitor the remote barns.

Plus Ubiquiti wifi bridges with remote switches to link all the cameras back to one central hub.
