All Your Fire Safety Maintenance Under One Roof

It's an inefficient nightmare.

Three different engineers. Three separate appointments.
Fire Extinguisher servicing Tuesday. Fire Alarm Maintenance a week Thursday. Emergency Lighting next month.

Each provider has different standards, different pricing structures and different response times when you need support. Sigh...

Your admin team spends hours co-ordinating schedules while you pay premium rates for fragmented service that creates more problems than it solves.
Professional Fire Extinguisher Servicing and Supply

MAC's Multi-Skilled Engineers Handle Everything With a Single Call And A Single Visit!

Our FIA-qualified engineers handle Fire Extinguishers, fire alarms, and emergency lighting in single maintenance visits. Every engineer completes four-day specialist training for extinguisher servicing to ensure BS 5306 compliance for Fire Extinguishers AND are at least level 3 qualified. Everyone.

One contact, one consistent standard, one clear pricing structure… nationwide. All your Fire Safety maintenance becomes efficient and reliable instead of an admin nightmare. The same professional service that facility managers trust across 100+ pub sites - from Stourbridge to Scotland.

Help Choosing The Right Fire Extinguisher Type For Your Premises

    Water Fire Extinguishers
    (Red Label - Class A)

Best suited for offices, schools, and retail premises with standard combustible materials like paper, wood, and textiles.

    Cost-effective protection for low-risk environments.

Our engineers assess your specific fire risks honestly - if water extinguishers provide adequate protection, we'll recommend them over expensive alternatives.

    Wet Chemical Fire Extinguishers
(Yellow - Class F Kitchen Fires)

Specialist protection for commercial kitchens and cooking oil fires. Creates cooling foam blanket that prevents dangerous oil fire re-ignition. Essential for any business with cooking facilities - from pub kitchens to staff canteens.

Our engineers assess kitchen fire risks and ensure proper wet chemical placement meets both safety and insurance requirements
Four Stones Gateway Trust - Worcestershire and Shropshire
I have excellent service for MAC security. From the moment they started, their team has been professional, attentive and responsive to our needs.

They always go above and beyond to ensure that everything is handled smoothly.

I couldn’t be more satisfied with their work and would definitely recommend them to others
    David Cox, Premises Manager
The Four Stones Gateway Trust, Worcestershire

Foam Fire Extinguishers (Cream Label - Class A & B)

Ideal for mixed-risk environments with both solid materials and flammable liquids.

Popular in workshops, garages, and industrial settings where versatility matters. Foam creates a cooling blanket that prevents re-ignition.

We install foam systems where your risk assessment shows mixed fire classes are likely

    Dry Powder Fire Extinguishers (Blue Label - Class A, B & C)

Multi-purpose protection for high-risk premises including electrical equipment and gas fires. Effective across the widest range of fire types but can cause equipment damage and visibility issues.

Our FIA-trained engineers explain the trade-offs honestly so you can make informed decisions about powder placement.

CO2 Fire Extinguishers (Black Label - Electrical & Class B)

Clean agent protection for server rooms and electrical equipment areas.

Leaves no residue but requires proper ventilation planning.

We co-ordinate CO2 placement with your electrical safety requirements to ensure protection without creating suffocation risks in confined spaces

What Your Professional Fire Extinguisher Servicing Looks Like

Step 1: Initial Commissioning & Setup

New Fire Extinguishers require professional commissioning by our FIA trained engineers. We check for transit damage, verify pressure levels, record initial weights and ensure proper installation before handover. This critical first step ensures your extinguishers are ready for service.

Step 2: Monthly Visual Inspection Support

While your Responsible Person conducts required monthly checks, we’ll provide guidance on what to look for - accessible positioning, intact safety pins, pressure gauge readings and visible damage. We're available to advise when your internal checks identify potential issues.

Step 3: Annual Basic Service & Testing

Our competent engineers perform comprehensive BS 5306-3 compliant inspections - pressure testing, weight verification, hose blockage and corrosion checks. We test discharge mechanisms, verify tamper seals and your mounting. Complete documentation provided for legal compliance

Step 4: Extended Service Management (5-Year Intervals)

We manage thorough extended services including discharge testing and internal inspections. For CO2 extinguishers (10-year intervals), we manage specialist hydraulic testing requirements too. With the MAC Service you can expect all your technical complexities scheduled and taken care of by a single point of contact. With a single service appointment.

Step 5: Immediate Issue Resolution & Replacement

Any extinguishers condemned during your service will be removed and replaced as soon as possible. We co-ordinate emergency replacements to prevent gaps in fire protection while managing proper disposal of condemned units according to environmental standards.

Step 6: Co-ordinated Fire Safety Servicing

Where practical, we schedule Extinguisher Maintenance alongside your Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting servicing. One engineer visit covers multiple Fire Safety requirements, reducing disruption.

Step 7: Complete Documentation & Record Keeping

Full BS 5306-3 certification with maintenance labels, Fire Log Book entries and digital records. We maintain all required documentation for insurance validation and regulatory inspection readiness.

Isn’t it time your Fire & Security setup made life simpler?

When you’re responsible for several busy locations - whether schools, hospitality venues or commercial premises - Fire & Security can quickly become more complicated than it should be. Different systems, different contractors and different standards all competing for your attention.

Issues take longer to resolve. Communication becomes fragmented. And the more sites you manage, the harder it becomes to keep everything operating consistently.

That’s where a single, accountable partner makes all the difference - one team co-ordinating your Fire & Security across every site, so things run smoothly instead of slowing you down.

    System takeovers without the hassle

Transitions are designed to be smooth and avoid downtime wherever possible. We survey your current systems, test compatibility with your existing equipment and explain every recommendation clearly.

Where remote access is possible, your life becomes much easier - with many issues diagnosed and resolved quickly without a callout, saving you time and minimising disruption.

If upgrades are needed, we’ll explain exactly why - and quote fairly every step of the way.

    Zahir and Naseem Ahmed

Finally, uncomplicated Fire & Security support

When you call, you get a real person who listens, understands the issue and takes responsibility for getting it sorted.

Our fixed-price Maintenance contracts stay fixed for the agreed term. MAC is BAFE SP203-1 accredited, NSI NACOSS Gold approved and our engineers are FIA Level 3 qualified. This is the kind of support that removes hassle, not creates it.

We’re proactive too - identifying and fixing smaller issues before they grow into something that could interrupt your operations. And if something isn’t right, we take ownership and put it right quickly. No excuses. Just accountability.

Ask us how much time, money and aggravation you'll save?

Clients stay with MAC year after year because working with us simply feels easier. Straight answers. Clear expectations. One team that genuinely cares about keeping your systems operating properly across every site.

How often do Fire Extinguishers need servicing and what does BS 5306-3 require?

Fire Extinguishers require annual basic servicing by a competent person, with extended services every 5 years (10 years for CO2 extinguishers). Monthly visual inspections must be conducted by the Responsible Person.

MAC's FIA-qualified engineers will handle all your BS 5306-3:2017 compliance requirements - commissioning, annual servicing, extended services and complete documentation. We co-ordinate everything so you never miss critical service dates.

What happens if my Fire Extinguishers aren't properly maintained for insurance purposes?

Insurance companies typically require proof of valid Fire Risk Assessment and properly maintained Fire Safety equipment. Failure to maintain can lead to claims being denied.

We provide complete BS 5306-3 certification with maintenance labels and digital records that satisfy insurance requirements. Our documentation ensures your coverage remains valid and audit-ready.

How many Fire Extinguishers does my business legally need?

Generally, most workplaces will need at least two Class A Fire Extinguishers on each floor, based on BS 5306-8 guidance and your fire risk assessment. Premises with electrical equipment will normally require suitable CO₂ extinguishers in the right locations.

Our site assessments determine exactly what you need - if two extinguishers provide adequate coverage, we won't recommend four, five or six.

What's the difference between commissioning and annual servicing?

New extinguishers should be professionally commissioned by a competent person before you rely on them. Without proper commissioning, there’s a real risk they won’t operate as intended in an emergency.

Annual servicing includes pressure testing, weight verification and seal inspection. MAC handles both - we commission new installations properly and maintain your annual service schedules with complete compliance documentation.

Can I buy extinguishers online and service them myself?

Fire Extinguishers must be serviced by a competent person – in practice, that usually means a technician with BAFE qualifications or equivalent training and experience. Commissioning must be done on-site by a competent person - it cannot be done before installation.

While you could purchase extinguishers independently, MAC ensures proper commissioning, servicing, and compliance that online suppliers cannot provide.

What are the legal penalties for non-compliance with Fire Extinguisher regulations?

Penalties for non-compliance can range from fines to imprisonment, depending on the severity of the breach. Failure to follow BS 5306-3:2017 not only risks fines but can compromise insurance validity.

MAC's comprehensive compliance approach eliminates these risks - we handle all legal requirements so you can focus on running your business with confidence.

Why choose MAC Security for Fire Extinguisher servicing over national providers?

When extinguisher issues arise call us. You’ll get through to someone who can help – not an annoying voicemail message. Our FIA-trained engineers provide honest assessments - if you need four extinguishers, we recommend four, not eight. We co-ordinate extinguisher servicing with your other Fire Safety maintenance through multi-skilled engineers, reducing disruption.

Expect the same transparent pricing nationwide, from Stourbridge to Scotland. We handle all BS 5306-3 compliance complexities while keeping it simple for you - one phone call sorts everything out.
